Firstly, stop panicking! Not having GCSE’s or A Levels is not the end of the world – did you know Eminem didn’t achieve any qualifications and now he’s worth an estimated £144 million?!

There are so many different avenues that you can take in order to reach your goals instead of the conventional ‘GCSE’s – A Levels – University – Job’ direction that still make you just as employable.

It doesn’t matter if you’re not the academic type – there are loads of programmes that allow you to gain more practical, hands-on experience.

At Runway Training, we can support you through your next steps whichever route you want to take now that you’ve finished school. Here are some options for you to consider:

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING

We offer a range of programmes and workshops which can help increase your employability. You will gain a nationally accredited qualification in the particular field you choose as well as advice and support on CV writing, interview preparation and job applications. An opportunity to gain confidence and be inspired by young entrepreneurs, as well as utilising your creativity to create a business plan and take part in a Dragon’s Den style activity!

Hands on experience in construction to help you further develop your practical skills and gain a nationally recognised construction qualification

An introduction to an exciting, fast-paced industry in order to prepare you for employment in hospitality and catering

Enables those wanting to help others to develop their knowledge and focus on a specific area of health and social care, for example, Mental Health or Adult Social Care, etc. 

Preparation for a career in customer service – perfect for social people!

These programmes will allow you to develop your skills further and learn more about the industry you want to go into, as well as prepare you for real-life employment.

APPRENTICESHIPS

Apprenticeships are a great way to get your foot in the door of the working world: you learn your craft on the job whilst being immersed in a real working environment – and you get paid for it! You will be respected as a true member of staff and gain invaluable work experience to kick-start your career.

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS IN MATHS AND ENGLISH

Didn’t achieve C grade or higher in Maths and/or English? No worries! We run online Level 1 and 2 Maths and English courses that you can complete in your own time from the comfort of your own home. Whatever path you take, we will offer you sound career advice and guide you every step of the way.
