Course Overview

You’ll get lifetime access to online videos, templates, resources and top tips, with live online Q&A sessions and peer support. And two regulated qualifications:

  • Developing Awareness of Mental Health Problems
  • Understanding Children & Young People’s Mental Health or Team Leading

What does the programme do?

This programme will train one person from your organisation to become a Workplace Well-being Leader. During the programme your organisation will benefit from:

  • Enhanced knowledge about the mental health and well-being of adults with the option of extending to children – or adding
  • A leadership certificate
  • A benchmarking activity to establish baseline well-being in your organisation, based on measures your organisation selects
  • Team involvement in exploring your organisation values and culture around people
  • Creating a unique workplace well-being strategy that fits perfectly with your vision, mission and values
  • Ongoing tracking of well-being measures

The impact of embedding a workplace well-being strategy within your organisation can be seen in reduced absences and conflict, with increased staff morale, productivity and efficiency.

How is it delivered?

  • The programme is delivered 100% online
  • Enrolment and induction in small groups via Zoom
  • Recorded training videos, for learning when it works best for the individual
  • Activities and resources to use with the team
  • Templates to facilitate quicker progress
  • Live Q&A sessions with a tutor, to check-in
  • For the 2 regulated qualifications, a dedicated learning platform with self-study resources – and tutorial support sessions, before electronic submission of work to an eportfolio

How long does it last?

Everyone works at slightly different speeds, but we expect the programme to take around 4-6 months, depending on the amount of time delegates are able to allocate. Furloughed workers are eligible and will be able to accelerate the timescale. Typically around 5-10 hours per week is usual, during work time where possible.

Organisation Eligibility

The following criteria apply:

  • The organisation must be located in East Sussex or the Coast to Capital LEP area
  • Employ less than 250 FTE (last accounting period)
  • Balance sheet of less than 43 million euros (last accounting period)
  • Turnover of less than 50 million euros (last accounting period)
  • Operate in a priority sector
  • Must not have received more than 200,000 euros of De Minimis aid in the last three fiscal years (part-funded options may be available where this criteria is not met)

Individual Eligiblity

The following criteria apply:

  • UK resident for at least 3 years (evidence required – and EU member passports will require additional evidence of leave to remain, work or residency stamps). Further information on request
  • Employed status (evidence required)
  • Aged 16 or over
  • Willing to commit to the full learning programme

Next Steps

The programme will enrol from late November into early December. As part of establishing eligibility of both the organisation and the individual, we will carry out a training needs analysis and ask for evidence to demonstrate some elements of eligibility, with declarations covering the rest.
