How did you hear about apprenticeships?

I wanted to leave school and you can’t leave school unless you go into further education. I didn’t want to go to college so I did some research and thought I could do an apprenticeship instead as it would suit me better.

What are your roles during your apprenticeship?

During my apprenticeship my main responsibilities include answering phones, dealing with enquiries, filing, sorting and sending post and doing any jobs that other member of staff require me to do.

What skills do you feel you have gained?

I think I have become more confident dealing with people over the phone and am better at working and figuring problems out independently.

How has Runway Training helped you?

They have been really helpful throughout my qualification. I receive plenty of tutoring for my functional skills and my qualification.

How has the apprenticeship helped you?

It has taught me loads of office based skills which helps you on your CV as you are more likely to get hired anywhere if you have some general office- based skills.

Would you recommend apprenticeships and why?

Yes I definitely would because if school isn’t for you and you want to make money then it is a good way to carry on getting further qualifications as well as being in employment.

Have you got any advice for people looking for apprenticeships or applying for them?

Yes, I think it’s definitely a positive experience to do an apprenticeship and it’s good to be able to make money whilst learning.

 What are your future plans?

I think I definitely want to continue in the industry I am in for the moment and see where it takes me.

The end goal?

I don’t really have one and haven’t really thought about it but I would love to get a permanent contract.
