Main Responsibilities & duties of the role.

Caseload Management & Participant Support

  • Co-ordinate and respond to incoming referrals with immediate team as per guidance, ensuring regular communication with referral partner.
  • Manage a caseload of 30 participants, delivering structured 1:1 coaching and personalised employability support.
  • Conduct vocational profiling, action planning, and goalsetting to identify strengths, aspirations, and employment pathways.
  • Deliver employability sessions including CV development, job search techniques, interview preparation, and workplace readiness.
  • Provide guidance on personal circumstances such as health conditions, workplace adjustments, confidence building, and benefits.
  • Support participants to overcome barriers to work through tailored interventions and referrals to specialist services.

Employer Engagement & Job Matching

  • Identify suitable job opportunities through targeted job searches and proactive employer engagement.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local employers to promote the Jobs Guarantee offer and secure sustainable job placements.
  • Match participants to appropriate roles based on aspirations, skills and employer requirements.
  • Support employers with onboarding, workplace adjustments, and ongoing communication to ensure successful placements.

InWork Support & Sustained Outcomes

  • Provide ongoing support to participants once they enter employment, helping them to adjust, progress, and sustain work.
  • Offer guidance to employers to ensure participants receive appropriate support and adjustments.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks to sustainability, and intervene early to prevent disengagement or dropout.
  • Plan progression and next steps with participants to support sustained employment and longer-term career development.

Compliance, Safeguarding & Record Keeping

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant records using internal systems and documentation protocols.
  • Uphold safeguarding responsibilities, including identifying and escalating concerns.
  • Follow information governance, data protection, and safer recruitment standards.
  • Work within programme targets, KPIs, and quality assurance frameworks

Experience, Skills knowledge qualifications training & attributes

The successful candidate will have experience of working with people facing complex barriers, such as long-term unemployment, addiction or health-related challenges.

Essential

  • Proven experience of delivering employability support to individuals with complex needs, health conditions or other barriers to work.
  • Experienced in delivering advice and guidance, career coaching, youth support work, or community outreach.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, coaching and rapport-building skills, demonstrated through a compassionate, non-judgemental approach.
  • Knowledge of the welfare system and benefits. – including but not limited to Universal Credit.
  • Practical knowledge of job markets, CV development, and interview preparation.
  • Driven and focused with an understanding of targets/ KPI’s.
  • Demonstrable success in meeting required standards of a publicly funded programme. Including customer service standards and programme compliance.
  • Ability to motivate, empower, and engage participants from diverse backgrounds.
  • Well organised, with attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage performance against job-outcome targets and take timely action where progress is off track.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills plus use of Internet, social media, and on-line teaching platforms (Teams, Zoom etc).

Desirable

  • Experience of assisting individuals with benefit advice, better off calculations.
  • Knowledge of strategies to maximise programme attendance and achievements.
  • Knowledge of local labour markets, employer expectations, and inclusive recruitment practices.
  • Strong teamworking skills with colleagues to enable progress, coordination and cover for illness, holiday etc when required.
  • A desire to delivery quality services and meet compliance requirements.

Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • CIAG Level 2 or be willing to work towards.
  • Safeguarding training (or willingness to undertake)

Desirable

  • Level 2 qualifications in English and Mathematics
  • CIAG Level 3 or be willing to work towards.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (communitybased delivery).

  • Willingness to travel regularly between delivery sites across Lewisham and occasionally to Tonbridge for staff meetings or training.
