The main purpose of this role to support the progression of a caseload of Team Leader apprentices, working towards their Level 3 standard. This will include some preparation and delivery of high-quality online and face-to-face workshops.

You will work closely with apprentices and their employers, to review progress, set goals and targets, provide coaching support and undertake reviews. You will also be responsible for implementing early intervention (where required) for apprentices who require additional support to reach their goals.

A core part of this role is supporting apprentices to build and develop high-quality pieces of evidence for their portfolio in fulfilment of their end-point-assessment. This will be supported through the provision of high-quality, robust feedback to learners.

Opportunities to deliver other management qualifications may arise depending on apprenticeship caseload and business need.

Main Responsibilities & duties of the role.

  • Work collaboratively with the Apprenticeship Delivery Manager to develop knowledge-based workshops (delivered in conjunction with other specialists / guest speakers).
  • Self-manage a caseload of Level 3 Team Leader apprentices, to  conduct monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly meetings with the purpose of; setting goals in fulfilment of building a high quality portfolio of evidence (POE), reviewing progress against goals set, monitoring attendance and preparing learners for End Point Assessment (EPA).
  • Conduct regular reviews with learners (including other stakeholders where relevant) to review distanced travelled and set meaningful targets to ensure continued progress is made towards the learning outcomes of the programme.
  • To maintain the health, safety, and wellbeing of learners through the application of robust behaviour management, e-safety and safeguarding methods, following the centre’s procedures if these do not meet required expectations.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to the Apprenticeship Delivery Manager regarding the progress of individual learners, agreeing on suitable action plans for success where progress is not being met as expected.
  • Ensure that the e-portfolio for each learner is kept up to date, with worked marked and feedback provided within an agreed timeframe.
  • Liaise with employers (or other relevant stakeholders) as necessary.
  • Follow the centre’s procedures and quality assurance process with all learners at all times.
  • Provide impartial support and CEIAG to learners.
  • Promote the company and its services and provide excellent levels of assessment practice and customer service at all times.
  • Maintain a Continuing Professional Development (CPD), this should be a minimum of 35 hours a year.
  • Adhere to all Safeguarding and centre polices.
  • To undertake any duty that may reasonably be required, including the delivery of management programmes linked to Runway Training’s Adult Skills provision.
  • To participate fully in the company’s staff review process and undertake agreed staff development activities.
  • To work as an active member of the team by sharing information, ideas through regular communication and providing support where needed.
  • To keep abreast of changes and developments in the provision of products and services offered by the company.

Professional experience, skills and knowledge

Essential

  • Experience of delivering workshops both on-line and face to face
  • Experience of working with apprentices and preparing learners for end-point-assessment
  • Proven experience of building good relationships with learners
  • Ability to provide robust, high-quality feedback to learners as part of the learning and assessment process
  • Knowledge of strategies to maximise learner achievements
  • Well organised
  • Proven track record of achievement as a manager / team leader
  • Exemplary knowledge of Safeguarding, including Prevent and British Values and How to Safeguard Young People
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills plus use of Internet, social media, and on-line teaching platforms (Teams, Zoom etc)

Desirable

  • Previous experience of OFSTED inspections/monitoring visits
  • Previous experience of End Point Assessment (EPA)
  • Experience of coaching / mentoring
  • Willingness to attend training courses to widen scope of subjects that can be taught
  • Attendance at conferences to ensure latest ideas and strategies are implemented
  • Strong teamworking skills with colleagues to enable progress, coordination and cover for illness, holiday etc when required.

Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • Minimum L3 Award in Education and Training (or equivalent)
  • Level 2 IAG qualification
  • L3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (or equivalent)
  • Level 2 qualifications in English and Mathematics

Desirable

  • L5 Diploma in Education and Training (or willing to work towards)
  • L4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice
  • Careers / Higher IAG qualification
  • A relevant coaching qualification
