This course is fully funded for eligible candidates
The Study Programme is aimed at 16-18 years olds who want a different option to the usual route. This course is ideal for students who, for whatever reason, are not able to attend a traditional education environment, such as school or college.
There is a full induction programme at the start of the course. Learners will start the course getting to know your surroundings, personal tutor, and fellow peers. Housekeeping rules and group expectations will be agreed by all learners from the outset, to ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe in their learning environment.
Having achieved your qualification you will be supported to progress onto either a Traineeship or Apprenticeship programme to help further develop your skills, qualifications and experience. Ultimately, we want to provide you with the tools and ability to gain employment and start a career that you can excel in.
The Study programme will take place at our dedicated learning centre in Tonbridge, however we don’t want learners to be purely classroom based.
There will be plenty of activities on offer, including workshops, team building events, outdoor activities, trips and visits to local businesses. On-site we have a dedicated outside area with football posts and table tennis!
We want to make sure you find work experience that’s relevant to you and your interests. We will work with you to find an employer to match your needs. We already have links with numerous employers who are waiting to welcome you.
Work experience will start in Term 3, which begins in January 2022. You will attend your work placement for one day per week across Terms 3 and 4.
Typically, the learner will be on timetable 5 days per week throughout the academic year, running between 10am and 3:30pm.
We will try to cover everything needed whilst you are at our learning centre, but there might be some revision or coursework that will need completing in your own time.
The only exams involved are Maths and English Functional Skills, all of the other work is coursework based.
The good news is the Study Programme course is completely FREE to the learner.
The course is a full academic year, September to June. You will follow the same holiday pattern as schools and colleges, so there will be half term breaks, Christmas and Easter holidays too.
We are located in Tonbridge, Kent. We have good public transport links (bus and train), as well as road links. We have very limited parking available at our centre and visitors must park in the visitors’spaces only. If these are full, please use off-site parking.
