Runway Training has been selected as a partner by Merton Adult Learning, to deliver Construction Courses for the 2025/26 Academic Year. The Courses will be delivered in Merton and are designed to support adult learners aged 19+ to gain the knowledge and skills to access job opportunities in the construction industry.
Level 1 Award in Health & Safety for The Construction Environment (City & Guilds)
This Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment is accepted to apply for the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) green Labourer card.
The CSCS Labourer card is intended for those working only as a labourer. To apply for this card there is a requirement for applicants to achieve a formal knowledge based qualification, this Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment meets this requirement. Achievement of this award will demonstrate the applicant’s understanding of key issues affecting safe working practices on UK construction site
This qualification provides a basic, introductory set of knowledge and skills, relevant to construction. However, it is anticipated that it will be of specific relevance to unemployed adults needing to demonstrate their interest in and commitment to a particular vocational area to potential employers, particularly where further work-based training will be on offer.
This qualification could lead to an entry-level role in construction such as general labourer, painter and decorator.Learners can progress to a level 2 certificate or diploma in Construction as well as pathways in Bricklaying, Bench Joinery, Craft Masonry, Building Maintenance, Painting and Decorating, Plastering.
Providing you have a CSCS card, employment opportunities are high and there is no better time to upskill. The CSCS course will help you to understand the Health & Safety regulations relating to the construction industry. At the end of the course you will be supported to undertake your CSCS card test at a local centre.
