How did you hear about Apprenticeships? And how and why did you get and start your apprenticeship?

I was at southpaw around 3 months before starting my apprenticeship, following a discussion with my line manager about how I could develop my skills, we decided the Business Administration Level 3 apprenticeship would be a great path to develop my skills.

How has the Apprenticeship helped you?

The apprenticeship has allowed me to develop and put my new skills in to action, implementing them in to my work. I am now managing and structuring my workload more effectively. I have learnt new things I wasn’t noticing before and putting more effort in to different tasks. The apprenticeship has given me more confidence to consider my career goals, exploring options within Southpaw on a longer basis and pushing me to try new things.

What Skills have you developed during your Apprenticeship that will help you with your career or even your personal life?

I have developed my organisation skills, I am now prioritising my work on a day to day basis. Additionally, I evaluate my mistakes allowing me to grow within the workplace.

Is there an achievement that you are particularly proud of?

Part of my apprenticeship was to complete my Maths Functional Skills at Level 2. I am not very confident with maths and I achieved 92%. I spent a lot of time online, with my assessor and working on practice exam papers to revise and refresh my knowledge.

How has Runway Training helped you realise your achievements?

My assessor Ben offers great feedback, complimenting when I have done well, and highlights the areas of improvements. Ben helped whenever required and was very reassuring, especially when it came to deadline and timescales. The support Ben offers really showed when I receive my 92% pass park in my Maths Functional Skills Level 2.

Would you recommend Apprenticeships and why?

YES! Especially to someone who is not quite sure how they wish to progress in the future, for someone who wants to learn and cover a wide range of topics but not 100% which direction to take.

What are your future plans? Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?

I am interested in working in Social Media within my organisation and hoping to move up in this field within the industry. I feel like I have found the right industry and right agency to progress with. I am hoping to progress on to more training and will be completing some industry specific online courses next year.
