KCS Professional Services provide a range of services to public and private sector customers.  We are operating a ‘Try Before You Buy’ scheme with electric vehicles on behalf of KCC.  The scheme will support the authority’s carbon zero strategy and help improve the strategic road network within Kent.

You will assist the team in operating a fleet of 50 vehicles and be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service to all perspective clients. Clients will be from the private sector and include SME businesses. You will be part of a small team and will be involved from the initial enquiry, loan, right through to the vehicle return.

This is an exciting role, where we will provide training and you will be able to complete and apprenticeship within customer service.

Full description of vacancy

  • You will support the Customer Executive in dealing with all client calls and enquiries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Undertake Fleet Reviews with businesses to determine their needs going forward and how they will be met with an electric vehicle
  • Determine the suitability of a loan with a client
  • Provide a proactive and organised approach to monitoring and amending the scheduling system
  • Carry out driving licence, credit and insurance checks for all clients of the service
  • Preparation and completion of all loan documents in line with agreed processes
  • Ensure the vehicle is clean, tidy and fully charged before loan commences, movement of vehicles when required on site and between local locations
  • Meet and greet clients and provide training and demonstrations of a level that our client is secure in their ability to drive and maintain the vehicle throughout the loan period.
  • Undertake comprehensive checks on all returning vehicles to ensure that the vehicle is free from any damage during the loan period
  • Complete a customer survey with the client following vehicle return
  • Accident Management of the fleet including windscreens, liaising with the client and the garage, ensuring payments are secured where required prior to any work being undertaken
  • To ensure any service for the vehicle is booked and completed on time minimising VOR
  • Liaise with our suppliers on all breakdown recovery and repairs to ensure the vehicle is back on the road in line with SLA’s

Required skills

Confident to pick up the phone and speak to a wide range of people. Can do approach

Confident speaking to customers face to face

IT confident and competent in Microsoft Word and Excel

(these however will also be supported with training to help)

Needs a full clean driving licence

Required personal qualities

Confident and able to take direction, self motivated and wanting to learn and develop. Enjoys the work they do

Required qualifications

GCSE English and Maths or equivalent or willingness to undertake

Reality check

This role will be really varied, you will be dealing with customers and calling clients, you will be dealing with data and working in an office on the computer and then on other days you will be moving vehicles around and cleaning them

£200 per week

Working week

37 hours per week. 9-5 with half hour/hour lunch
