  Croydon based with travel to London when required

This role will plan, prepare and teach CSCS units and level 1 and 2 construction related programmes to a variety of learners aged 16+. The will support the learner through their journey with vocational and employability skills.

  • Conduct initial assessments to identify the learners strengths and weaknesses and provide appropriate actions
  • Train and motivate the learners to help them develop their potential and skills
  • Provide advice and guidance to the learners to help them develop their potential and skills
  • Provide advice and guidance to the learners all throughout the course to support them in decision making toward future goals.
  • Ensure all records are up to date and accurate.

We would like the post holder to be able to demonstrate the following competencies to a high level and want to use these to the full in their work. This is more important than having a great deal or direct experience of the job content, and we will be looking for evidence pf the following competencies during the selection process, if you are shortlisted.

Professional experience, skills and knowledge

Essential

  • Some experience relevant to the role.
  • Willingness to learn and grow ability to contribute to the running of the projects. 
  • Effective oral and written communication.
  • Excellent Organisational and time management skills.
  • Computer literate – Word, Excel and presentation skills.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills. 
  • Self starter and resourceful.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in the skills and training sector.

Qualifications and Training 

Essential 

  • Teaching qualification e.g AET/PTLLS/CertEd.
  • Assessing qualification Level 3 or equivalent
  • Health and safety qualification Level 3 or above 
  • IAG qualification 

Desirable

  • Level 3 qualification or equivalent (A-Levels etc) (Essential).
  • Willing to undertake further qualification as part of self development.

  • Flexible to change focus pending needs to individual learners.
  • Enthusiastic and energetic approach.
