The Apprenticeship Manager will be responsible for delivering an operations and registration function for all apprenticeship provision and to contribute to the strategy and management of the company operations.

This role will ensure that training solutions and support are compliant with the aims of the service. The post holder will ensure high quality delivery for apprentices and employers.  The Apprenticeships Manager will line manage a team of Apprenticeship Teachers, along with support staff and Functional Skills Tutors.  Developing, monitoring and evaluating the services will be a big part of this role. You will be responsible for shaping service delivery, building strong relationships with partners and maintaining Runway Training’s strong reputation.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To be an active member of the Senior Management Team, playing a key role in raising standards across the company and contributing to strategic planning
  • To develop and deliver a business plan to meet income and start targets across Apprenticeships
  • To oversee processes for student enrolment and recruitment and to ensure students are matched to the most appropriate provision
  • To oversee all administration functions including student recruitment, student records, student monitoring and tracking (oversight of OneFile) and to ensure all necessary reporting requirements are undertaken
  • To oversee the recruitment of employers who wish to have apprentices
  • To prepare reports on behalf of the Managing Director and to monitor performance against targets
  • To support quality assurance and self-assessment activities, ensuring full learner and employer participation
  • To ensure all training programmes and apprenticeships provide a safe learning environment and that risk assessments are undertaken in accordance with Safeguarding Procedures
  • To ensure students are safeguarded and actions taken to identify and respond to their welfare concerns, and to maintain the vulnerable risk register
  • To provide guidance on funding and specifications for apprenticeship standards and workplace learning to partners and staff
  • To oversee arrangements for the monitoring, tracking and reporting of all Apprenticeship provision within Runway Training
  • To ensure accurate and timely management information
  • To be responsible for the effective line management and direction of designated staff including the appointment, induction, deployment and appraisal of staff; ensuring staff are appropriately supported and developed to achieve both team and individual targets in line with strategic priorities
  • To ensure internal file check audits are carried out for all relevant provision
  • To participate in the staff support and development scheme and to undertake training based on individual and service needs
  • To take a lead in creating and promoting a positive, inclusive ethos that challenges discrimination and promotes equality and diversity
  • To comply with legislative requirements and Runway policies and guidelines in respect of health & safety and data protection
  • To demonstrate positive personal and professional behaviour as specified in the Staff Code of Conduct
  • To undertake continuing professional development to support our culture of continuous improvement
  • To meet minimum relevant occupational standards
  • To keep up to date with the skills required to fulfil the role
  • To undertake any other duties as may be reasonably requested, including standing in for The Managing Director
