Apprentice Chef, Eastbourne

This is an opportunity to prepare, cook and present food at a soft play cafe.

Roles and responsibilities include:

• Keeping preparation at the right level to reduce wastage
• Making sure food is served promptly
• Monitoring food production to ensure consistent quality and portion size
• Stock control – preparing stock order at the end of shift for next days trading
• Following a high level of health and safety, cleanliness and food hygiene methods ensuring that safe working practices are adhered to
• Ensure the working station is clean, sanitised and kept tidy at all times
• Assisting the servery worker with any washing up and the dishwasher as required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualified to level 2 in food and hygiene preferable
  • Level 1 Diploma in Introduction to Professional Cookery an advantage
  • Relevant experience required, ideally in a similar catering environment

TRAINING:

Level 2 Hospitality Services Apprenticeship (including NVQ, Tech Cert, Employee Rights & Responsibilities and maths and English if not already held)

Salary:

£3.50 ph - £187.50 /week

Working week:

9.30 - 6.00, 5 days per week to include a Sunday
