This is an office-based role, providing day-to-day support to the Resources Department. We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual to join this growing team. We have a long history of employing apprentices and progressing them into more senior roles within the company.

Runway Training, established in 2008 as a provider specialising in adult literacy and numeracy. Today we offer a wide range of courses and deliver across the South East. To date, we have helped in excess of 25,000 learners achieve nationally-recognised qualifications, enabling them to develop the skills they require to achieve their goals.

This is an office-based role, providing day-to-day support to the Resources Department. We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual to join this growing team. We have a long history of employing apprentices and progressing them into more senior roles within the company.

 

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compiling and maintaining employee records, including holiday and sickness leave
  • Issuing employment contract documents
  • Assisting with the recruitment of new staff members
  • Assisting with processing payroll
  • Processing incoming and outgoing company invoices including credit control duties
  • Assisting with creating performance reports on a regular basis
  • Managing office supplies and equipment for smooth office functionality
  • Arranging travel and accommodation for staff
  • Assisting with the booking of learner examinations and issuing of results
  • Answering the telephone
  • General administration for the Resources Dept
  • Any other reasonable office-based tasks

Development

  • Being responsible for own professional development as part of the apprenticeship programme
  • Being involved in broader workings of the organisation (e.g. through involvement in working groups)

 

General

  • Undertake all duties in accordance with Runway Training’s policies and procedures with particular reference to Health & Safety and Equal Opportunities.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

We want the post-holder to be able to demonstrate the following competencies to a high level and want to use these to the full in their work. This is more important than having a great deal of direct experience of the job content, and we will be looking for evidence of all the following key competencies during the selection process, if you are shortlisted

QUALIFICATIONS

Desirable

  • Grade 4-9 (A*-C) English & Maths GCSE or equivalent

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills (written and verbal)
  • Driven and focused with the ability to hit targets
  • An ability to organise your own workload including the capacity to handle pressure and to be adaptable to changing or conflicting demands
  • An ability to understand, implement and construct professional boundaries
  • An ability to initiate and maintain constructive relations with clients, colleagues and other professionals from a wide variety of cultural and social backgrounds
  • Good English and maths skills.
  • Excellent IT skills (i.e. email, Word, Excel etc.)
